One of the things that I love about Bluehost is that you can install a FREE SSL Certificate on Bluehost for every WordPress website on a shared hosting account! Plus, it’s really easy to have it installed on your domain.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for installing a free SSL certificate on your WordPress website hosted on Bluehost!

Step 1:

Log into your Bluehost cpanel and then click on “WordPress tools“.

Step 2:

Make sure you domain name is selected in the dropdown box.

Step 3:

Click on “Security” on the left sidebar options.

Step 4:

Once on the Security page, you’ll see a toggle button next to “Free SSL“. Click the toggle button to On

You’re done! It takes a few minutes to install your free SSL certificate from Bluehost. You should receive a receipt from Bluehost showing a $0.00 charge for your SSL certificate.

You might notice that the receipt shows only being free for three months, however, the SSL will automatically renew for free. Your free Bluehost SSL certificate is free for as long as you have a WordPress website on the domain name through Bluehost.

When the installation is complete, you can verify that your website is secure by looking for “https” in the URL bar of your browser.
